Silver Needles earn their name from their iconic, needle-like shape that is smothered in frosty hairs. It’s rarity stems from the rigorous cultivation process. It begins in the early spring when the farmers go through and hand-pick the best unopened tea buds that appear at the top of each tea plant. Once this process is finished, the tea buds go through a day of wilting and low-temperature drying. Next, the leaves are then sorted through by hand to ensure quality and consistency. Once the meticulous sorting process is completed, the leaves finally make their way to the market to be sold. Since this process yields smaller quantities of tea and requires more time to develop— high-quality Silver Needles tend to be much harder to find compared to any other tea on the market.
Silver Needles contain moderate amounts of caffeine. Can be steeped for 2-3 infusions.
